Developing regenerative places and the businesses that sustain them.
Urban design for a regenerative world.
We blend technical process, systems thinking, and stylistic elegance to reimagine how places sustain themselves — bringing clarity and craft to construction, planning, and live events.

Two arms of the practice
Practice I
Environmental Urban Design
Environmental design consulting on public space, landscape, and the places people live and work, through biophilic design, placemaking, and open-space planning.
Grounded in Stephen Kellert's research on biophilic design, so the landscape, the human experience, and the material detail work as one system.

Business Development Consulting
Professional consulting on construction, live events, and growing business ventures, through team building, systems strategy, and KPI design.
Data-based reporting and program scheduling, paired with Integrated Project Delivery, so strategy and execution move together.

A multidisciplinary urban planning studio providing professional consulting on construction, live events, and growing business ventures.
Our integrated practice focuses on healthy, performance-driven design, data-based reporting structures, program scheduling, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
The work starts from a simple observation: natural systems regulate themselves — they distribute stress, recycle waste, and restore balance. We have the unique opportunity to study the properties and behaviors of these mechanisms, and use an urban design perspective to apply this natural intelligence in our built environment.
We look at placemaking through a human lens, inspired by Stephen Kellert's foundational research on biophilic design, to bring that regenerative capacity into the places we shape — considered together at the scale of the landscape, the human experience, and the material detail.
Our mission is to provide a leading portfolio of urban technologies that value open space, welcoming diversity, bountiful sustainability, and historic continuity in the city and coastal fabric.
How we got started
Founding Principal
Angela Chinn was born and raised in California, where her love of cities and coastal places took root at age 14. After 15 years working across hospitality, construction, logistics, and live events, she built Stormi Applied Computation Design Co. — devoted to making healthy, happy, productive environments the standard for how we build.

The products and services we offer
Practice I
Environmental Urban Design
We provide environmental design consulting on public space, landscape, and the places people live and work, helping communities restore how their places function through biophilic design, placemaking, and open-space planning.
Our approach builds on Stephen Kellert's foundational research on biophilic design, so the landscape, the human experience, and the material detail move together toward a regenerative whole.
We provide professional consulting on construction, live events, and growing business ventures, helping teams sharpen how they work through team building, systems strategy, and KPI design.
Our integrated approach pairs data-based reporting and program scheduling with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), so strategy and execution move together toward a shared vision.

Research
Understanding the regenerative world around us.
Our natural environment has the energy to regenerate, evolve, and adapt. We can observe the patterns in nature that have these characteristics, and design them into our built environment.
Studio I
Environmental Design / Urban Design Studio
We observe the energy nature uses to restore balance and bring new life to eroded ground, and apply that same intelligence to the built environment.
We start with the site conditions most visible in everyday practice, then move into the deeper ecological and sensory factors conventional design tends to overlook.
Each one maps back to the natural mechanisms and biophilic strategies that can bring it into balance.

Studio II
Business Development Studio
We apply the same systems-thinking approach to organizations, working with leadership to advance the vision.
We map how the business works to optimize sustainability, stability, and profitability, and clarify the metrics that matter most.
Then we build on existing internal capacity, from team structure to succession planning.

Every contribution — big or small — goes toward developing the Stormi ACDC portfolio of biophilic design strategies at the landscape, human experiential, and material scales, and toward the research and design teams that bring them to more places.
Our business is made up of two arms: an environmental urban design practice, and a business development practice.
